Machakos County Assembly on Tuesday adjourned it's sittings up to June 25, 2019.
This is in a bid to give room for members of various sectoral committees to continue interrogating County executive chief Officers and senior staff concerning proposed budgetary allocations for the 2019/2020 budget.
Speaking when adjourning the sitting, Speaker Florence Mwangangi said that this will help bring out an effective budget.
"The process needs to be fast-tracked and there's no much time and for this reason, we need to give that process finalization, the house stands adjourned as far as the sittings are concerned and it will resume on the 25th of June at 10 am," said Mwangangi.
"The purpose is to enable you members continue to participate fully in the remaining part of the budget-making process so that we can have a well-done and effective budget," she added.
The budget committee chairperson Dominic Ndambuki told the press that the budget is estimated at 12 billion shillings.
Ndambuki who is the Kathiani central ward MCA said that the committee will bring its report concerning the budget back to the assembly next week.
"We will bring back the report next week so as to pave way for development to our people as soon as possible," he said.
