Nyamira County local leaders have reacted after eight Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) from Nairobi stormed Nyamira County on Thursday to probe corruption involving the construction of Nyamira County Assembly building.

Led by Victor Swanya, the leaders urged DCI officers to ensure culprits are nabbed and charged in a court of law. 

"Corruption must come to an end in Nyamira County by prosecuting offenders. Let the DCI officers conduct a thorough probe over hiked corruption in Nyamira County," he noted.

The Wiper Party  Vice chairman challenged Governor John Nyagarama and county workers to accord the DCI officers necessary support to ensure cartels are apprehended to face prosecution. 

Okioma Omwancha insisted that Nyagarama must not condone corruption in his government for the sake of realizing development in the county. 

"It is high time the ODM allied Governor to stop employing his relatives. The County public Service Board must also ensure ghost workers siphoning money from the county are reported to the DCI officers for regal actions to be taken," said Omwancha.  

Kefah Moenga, an ODM leader from Manga lauded the DCI officers saying they should not compromised to spare corrupt officers in the county.
