The angry residents claimed that Matiang'i has failed to act despite the numerous complains about police laxity.

"Insecurity is at the peak in the area despite police officers from Rioma being close to us. Matiang'i has ignored our plea to transfer lazy security officers who seem to be colluding with criminals to break into people's shops and houses to steal," said Bernard Ratemo.

Sylvanus Oeri protested Matiang'i's silence saying he should first put his home turf in order.

"Matiang'i is boosting security in other regions while at his home turf insecurity is at the peak. We want him to move with speed and ensure police officers who have served at Rioma police station for long are moved to other stations," he noted.

Innocent Kirera argued that on Sunday armed criminals stormed a local shop, stole an unknown amount of money and other valuables.

"Police until today have not produced the people who stole in a local shop on Sunday. We are no longer safe and Matiang'i need to act before we go on rampage," said Kirera
