Speaking on Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Sakaja said President Uhuru Kenyatta can only cancel plans he had with a person if that person goes astray with what they had earlier settled on.

"Our president is a man of his word unless you betray him and one of the ways you can betray him is by moving beyond what you had agreed upon. Uhuru Kenyatta will never betray anybody," said Sakaja.

One would have thought by Uhuru appointing CS Fred Matiang'i to chair the National Development Implementation and Communication Committee, he was to indirectly stripping off the same powers from the deputy president William Ruto.

In Sakaja's view, the DP was above the role was given to Matiang'i.

"It would be demeaning the status of the Deputy President to make him sit in a cabinet committee while there is somebody who can chair a cabinet committee," stated Sakaja.

Sakaja also said he is very happy about the appointment of Dr Matiang'i to chair the National Development Implementation and Communication Committee.

He said he would have liked it much if Matiang'i had been appointed in 2013 for the same role.
