The DP who has since, however, been frequenting the neighboring Western Kenya region has been paying very low attention to the lakeside region, especially with regards to his pending presidential bid.

Here are some of the reasons why he has been avoiding the region;

1. To avoid soiling his 2022 bid

The DP who is already working towards realizing his 2022 presidential bid is keen on ensuring that he retains his strong nature as he is currently perceived to be.

This is because by visiting Luo Nyanza, he is likely to be rejected, portraying him as a political reject in some parts of the nation, an unfolding that will injure his reputation a few years to the poll.

The rejection is likely to emerge from the bad blood between him and opposition leader Raila Odinga who enjoys close to total support in the region.

2. To avoid tough questions

He knows for sure that he will have to answer to the allegations his side has been heaping on Odinga, including claims that he is the one shaking the ruling Jubilee Party.

With such tough questions likely to result to booing and jeers if wrongly handled, he would rather keep off until when it will be very necessary.

3. Waste of time

He knows that he stands a very low chance of getting the region’s backing and is set to score even less should Odinga vie.

Therefore, he would rather tour other promising regions that can help him  fill his vote basket.
