Speaking on Citizen TV’s DayBreak show on Monday, Kabogo said that the process of the nomination has been flawed with leaders presenting names of those close to them including their girlfriends. He claimed that most of the nominees do not represent the will of the people. Kabogo added that he would have scrapped the nomination seats if given a chance to do so.“If you ask me, I would scrap out this nomination business. People give it to their girlfriends/ those that they know…that is the story for nominations in Kenya,” he said.He reiterated that the nominated lawmakers have only been wasting public resources but they have nothing much to offer to the people. On the other hand, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna said that they should only reconsider the process of nomination. He admitted that some parties have compromised with the entire nomination process.“What we want to make clear is yes, there are people who have been nominated by political parties on merit. The few cases of people nominating those they know have soiled the entire process,” he said during the same interview.
