Embrace has been crisscrossing the country in the name of peace campaigns, under the leadership of Youth Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rachel Shebesh.

Speaking in Kisumu on Friday, Wanga who has been an active member of the Embrace group said that the team is pursuing an active course, and should not be compared with the rival side.

"We are a unity course. I do not think there should be any comparisons or anything. I think we should just look at embrace for what it is and what it wants to do for his country and its a noble course," she said.

Wanga also rubbished claims that the group, which has openly aligned itself with President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, is engaging in divisive politics.

She said that the plan is to promote the peace and national cohesion initiative founded by the two national leaders after their March 2018 truce.

"We said let's bring our women together, let's put our voice into the unity discussion supporting the handshake between His Excellency Raila Odinga and His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta so that Kenya can move forward," she added.

Inua Mama which is led by Kandara MP Alice Wahome has, however, accused Embrace of being part of the Kieleweke group out to scuttle Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid.

As opposed to Embrace, Inua Mama consists women leaders allied to the Deputy President, and who have been very suspicious of the handshake from the onset.

Wanga spoke when she toured Kisumu for several functions attached to the Embrace team, in the company of over 30 other leaders.
