Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has dismissed outgoing Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore after his state appointment to the National Cancer Institute.
Collymore was appointed to the board through a gazette notice by Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Miguna said that the outgoing CEO has nothing to add to Kenyans in terms of cancer treatment as he has zero knowledge of cancer undertakings noting that Kenya has a lot of qualified cancer research experts who could have been appointed to serve in the board.
"There are a lot of Kenyan physicians and cancer researchers who would make substantive contributions to cancer research and treatment. Mr. Collymore adds zero value to the Kenya Cancer Board,"read his facebook post in part
"Is Mr. Bob Collymore's only qualification the fact that he has cancer because apart from a diploma from Sulhurst High School in the UK, he has zero clinical knowledge of cancer, "he added.
Collymore joins the Institute that is mandated to offer advice to the Health CS on the priorities that should be accorded to cancer prevention and control in Kenya with the major functions ranging from general oversight, coordination of all activities, advocacy and awareness creation, cancer registration and coordinating cancer research.
