As harambee and politics in churches continue brewing heated debate across the country, 'tanga tanga' team on Sunday defied all odds and conducted a fundraiser in Cherengany Constituency, TransNzoia County.
Former Kakamega senator Dr Boni Khalwale in a Facebook post said when the church is working righteously and fulfilling the redemption of the sinners and the lost, they change peoples livelihoods for the better.
"There's nothing like the local church when it's working right and being supported.
"And when churches are fully engaged in fulfilling their redemptive potential, the lost get found, the spiritually confused find truth, and lives are changed in this world and for eternity," read his facebook post
Khalwale was in company of Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen,Oscar Sudi, Hon Hillary Koskei, Aaron Cheruiyot, Hon. Caleb Kositany, Dr Mishra Kiprop Arap Chelule, Nelson Koech Sonko Belgut MP, Hon Aisha Jumwa Katana, Malindi MP,Didimus Baraza, Cate Waruguru, Kipruto Kirwa, Farouk Kibet, David Kiplagat among others.
"With Kipchumba Murkomen and a host of Senators/WReps/MPs/MCAs for a church service cum funds drive at Chepsiro African Inland Church in Cherang'any, Trans Nzoia County," he added
As 2022 approaches the 'tanga tanga' team who are allied to the Deputy President have been going head on with their counterparts in Jubilee, team 'kitaeleweka' allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta over the succession politics.
Divisions also continue in the debate of whether for churches to accept the donations from politicians or not with the ACK Archbishop Ole Sapit banning all harambees in the ACK church across the country with the Catholic Church asking its clergy to restrict politicians from politicking in the pulpit.
