A plot by Raila Odinga's ODM party to kick Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa out of influential PSC committee and subsequent eviction from the party may have humbled the vocal MP, it has been established.
On Friday, a humbled Jumwa along with fellow rebel Suleiman Dori, were accompanied by lawyer Kioko Kilukumi to ODM disciplinary committee where they defended their recent association with DP William Ruto.
But a party insider says Ms. Jumwa may have been scared of possible eviction from PSC and subsequent eviction from the party.
"She has been engaging the party leader at his Karen home. And when it reaches that level, it must have been serious.
"There were plans to make her serve as an expansion by striping her committee privileges besides permanent eviction which could have resulted to a by-election," he said.
At the committee, Jumwa is said to have pleaded to be spared, adding that she was not privy to rules of the handshake.
In the coastal strip, Ms. Jumwa was a dependable ODM members and she helped the party scoop all available seats in the entire Kilifi County.
