Kenya National Soccer Team, Harambee Stars Striker Michael Olunga famously referred to as the Engineer scored his first goal for his new side Kashiwa Reysol on Saturday.
Olunga rose from the bench to score the fifth goal as his new side thrashed V-Varen Nagasaki 5-1 in a Japanese topflight league known as the J-League.
Olunga scored a one touch with his trade mark left foot after being given fantastic cross by his club mate from the left side of the stadium.
The goal came in the 93rd minute, making him the first Kenyan ever to score in a Japanese top tier league.
It was the second match for his new side, but the first home match at the Kashima Stadium.
“Thank you Lord for helping me achieve this feat, all glory is yours. #Godaboveall #Historymaker #debutgoal,” Olunga posted on his face book page after the game.
Olunga, former Gor Mahia player joined the Japanese side recently from Chinese Club Guizhou Zhicheng on a three year deal that sees him earn a breathtaking Sh15 million salary per month.
He has previously had stints with Spanish side Girona FC (on loan from Guizhou Zhicheng), Tusker FC and Thika United.
Michael Olunga’s side is now 11th on the 18 teams J-League table with 29 points after 24 matches.
