Thousands of mourners from all walks of life turned up to bid farewell Nakuru businessman Said Abdalla Azubedi on Tuesday.
Azubedi was interred at Bondeni Muslim Cemetery.
The business tycoon died on Monday at the Agha Khan hospital where he had been admitted.
Bondeni slum dwellers flooded the cemetery as they buried their neighbour and landlord, who despite his massive wealth interacted with them freely.
According to those who know Azubedi well, his story of success starts at the slum where he set up his first grocery shop.
However, it is his humble character that baffled many residents. He went ahead to own prime properties in Nakuru CBD and the posh Milimani estate but he never moved out of Bondeni slum.
He also never acquired any expensive car or clothes.
He interacted and donated food to the poor.
