On Monday, Education CS Ambassador Amina Mohammed revealed that at least five candidates have been deregistered by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) over alleged involvement in cheating.
Among the five candidates discontinued from the onging exams, three are reported to be from Garissa county.
It can now be revealed that three of the deregistered candidates are from Boys Town Secondary School in Garissa.
The name of the school was revealed after the three culprits of examinations malpractice were arraigned at a Garissa court on Tuesday.
The said candidates were charged with possession of outlawed foreign materials in the exam room
While responding to the filed charges, the students pleaded not guilty and the hearing of their case set for 12th February, 2019.
The arraigning of the trio is now expected to set a good example to other KCSE candidates intending to commit exam malpractices.
Prior to the official kick off of the national examinations, KNEC had released a list of schools in their radar over possible cheating cases.
Among the schools revealed in the radar was Garissa High School which, interestingly has not recorded a single case of exam malpractice.
