Kenyan gymnast, Wendy Waeni, 14, has thanked Kenyans for the love and support they have shown her since Wednesday night when she revealed that she was swindled by her former manager.
Taking to her newly-created Instagram account, Wendy shared a video in which she also thanked Jeff Koinange who hosted her on JKL his show.
"Hi guys this is Wendy Waeni here. I want to thank you so so much since yesterday's interview you've supported me. And I also want to say thank you to Jeff a lot. So I have a new Instagram account page, so I would wish you to continue supporting me even in this new account the other account was lost but please continue supporting me. And thank you so so much for those who have been supporting me. It's at @wendywaenikenya. Thank you, may God bless you," Wendy stated in the video.
Wendy's story stirred reactions from Kenyans on social media who called for the arrest of her former manager Joe Mwangi.
Wendy said that together with her mother Magdalene Syombua, they have been in squalor in spite of the fame her talent has gotten her.
Syombua sells sweets and cigarettes to make a living in Nairobi's Huruma area. Wendy said that Mwangi ceased all her social media accounts.
Celebrated couple Dj Mo and Size 8 offered to help the youngster to start a new Instagram page which now has more than 15,000 followers.
