Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has said that women leaders will not be interested in continuing with factions which divide them.
Currently, a host of women politicians have allied themselves to different political factions, which have been going ballistic against each other.
Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday, Chege said Team Embace and Inua Mama initiative will dissolve following the launch of Building Bridges Initiative report.
"As women of this country, we are going to unite. From today, we shall dissolve these factions embrace and Inua Mama for the sake of unity from today," said Chege, a proponent of Team Embrace.
Team Embrace has been supporting the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, who reconciled last year in March after a divisive election.
On the other hand, Team Inua Mama has been supporting the candidature of Deputy President William Ruto, a move that has heightened political temperatures in Kenya.
During the event, Chege also asked the government in future to consider allowing women to serve as Deputy Presidents in case the president is a male.
"We are many in numbers. As women, we want to get even post of Deputy President in case we can't afford the presidency," she appealed.
In the BBI proposals, if passed, governors will be compelled to pick running mates of either gender, a move that will solve the proportional representation of women.
