Three major political rivals on Friday shared podium for the first time in history at Rigoma playing grounds in Kitutu Masaba constituency.
Former Kitutu Masaba MPs Timothy Bosire and Walter Nyambati, met Governor John Nyagarama during the burial of Mr Paul Nyatuka, a county staff who died a fortnight ago.
Mr Walter Nyambati, had perhaps a protracted political battle with Bosire which manifested itself in three major elections. Nyambati beat Bosire in 2007 and in a by-election in 2011.
Two years later, Bosire beat Nyambati in Kitutu Masaba Constituency elections. But the two politicians have often clashed, a trend which is also observed among their supporters.
In 2017, Nyambati had another duel with Governor John Nyagarama, following a closely contested gubernatorial elections that saw the two separated by only 6,000 votes.
Mr Nyambati moved to Supreme Court after losing in lower courts to Nyagarama. In many years, the two have never had an opportunity to share podium.
But at Rigoma, Bosire, who sat near Nyambati, was seen picking him up and going towards where Governor Nyagarama was sitted. The three would be seen having a slight chart before resuming their seats.
While Nyagarama is set to retire in 2022, both Bosire and Nyambati have expressed intentions to succeed him. The two come from the same clan of Abagetutu.
