Lawyer Assa Nyakundi could be in deep trouble following the latest police report after obtaining CCTV footage that recorded his movements prior to his son's shooting, reports the Nation.
Mr Nyakundi remains indisposed at Nairobi Hospital after suffering high blood pressure. He admitted of accidentally shooting dead his son few weeks ago after leaving church.
But according to the CCTV, Nyakundi's movement cannot be accounted for around 30 minutes after the vehicle being seen along Museum Hill Road. It would later be seen at Aga Khan Hospital.
Police believe that it's between this time that Mr Nyakundi may have shot dead his son. The footage contradicts Nyakundi's statement that the accident took place near their Runda estate.
Also, an autopsy report tabled by government pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed that Joseph Nyakundi was shot dead at 90° from outside the vehicle, a contradiction of the lawyer's claim that he was inside the vehicle when the accident happened.
Further, the report revealed that that could have been a confrontation between the deceased and unknown people moments before his death.
Once out of the hospital, the celebrated lawyer will also have to explain why he said that he had 13 bullets even after it emerged that he had 14 rounds of ammunitions.
The burial at Gusii home in Ikuruma village has been suspended until the lawyer gets out of hospital. He could also face murder charges once sleuths are through with investigations.
