A first-time governor was on Tuesday morning arrested by flying squad officials over his alleged links to the former CEC Idris Muktar's attempted assassination.
Governor Ali Bunow Korane was arrested by officers from the Flying Squad at his Nairobi home at the crack of dawn on Tuesday morning and he is currently locked up at the Kilimani police station.
Reports indicate that two other accomplices, believed to be the governor's hired assassins, have also been arrested and locked up at the cells of Kilimani police station.
Idris Mukhtar, the former CEC finance of the county, was shot on the head in a case of attempted assassination.
The governor's arrest comes in the wake of allegations of misappropriation of funds that saw Korane appear before a parliamentary committee to answer questions.
