Former Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale has proposed a harsh punishment for former Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero who he accuses of grounding Kenya's largest sugar miller.
Khalwale who was speaking in Kakamega on Saturday in Matawa village, Mumias West constituency when he addressed sugarcane farmers proposed that the property belonging to Kidero be sold and the money be used for reviving the Mumias Sugar factory as well as pay farmers.
"Who was in charge of Mumias Sugar Company when money was not paid to farmers?" the former Ikolomani MP asked in a video posted on his official Twitter account.
"That person is called Dr Evans Kidero. Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa knows his home and I know his home. When we asked him about his issue one year ago, he locked us up. The government should take away Kidero's property and sell. CS Rashid tell the President that Kidero's property be sold."
Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa was at the function.
The CS, from the time he was appointed Cabinet Secretary, has been pushing for the revival of Mumias Sugar Company whose operations used to employ hundreds of thousands of people in the former Western province.
Kidero's name has adversely been mention in connection to the collapse of Mumias Sugar Company when he was ,Managing Director.
