Panic has gripped staff working under governor Ali Korane following the arrest of Migori boss Obado over the murder of a former University student Sharon Otieno.
According to an insider within Korane's circles, the Friday arrest of Obado sent jitters in the governor's inner circle who now feel the shocker will land on him in a few days.
It is widely speculated that the new developments will awaken calls to have the governor held responsible on the shooting of CEC Idris Mukhtar who is a former staff.
Korane, who has been in the DCI's radar on the shooting, has recorded statements with the investigating officers and is yet to know his fate on the matter.
However, pressure has been piling to have him detained since he was claimed to be at loggerheads with the ailing CEC over his quest to initiate private prosecutions following the governor's questionable academic credentials.
If arraigned and charged, Korane will be the second governor to be detained to answer criminal charges over attempted murder.
