The DP has lately been accused of involvement in every major corruption scandal that has hit the country.

Speaking on JKL show on Wednesday night, Mutua observed that the DP could be innocent, but is a victim of his history which is to some extent stained with corruption claims.

He noted that the DP has been mentioned in several graft scandals since his days as Cabinet Minister in retired President Mwai Kibaki's government, and the tag is yet to go away.

"His history is what makes him the suspect in most of these scandals. He was even suspended from his ministerial slot when he was a cabinet minister in the Grand Coalition Government and that has stained his reputation," he said.

He, however, stated that branding the DP corrupt just because of his past is wrong, adding that the new claims must be proved by the accusers, and evidence presented for probing.

The county boss said that the DP is now finding himself in a very hard position to an extent that even his hard-earned wealth is being considered proceeds of the corruption he is allegedly engaging in.

"I feel for him because of what he is having to go through. Let the Kenyans making such claims take the evidence they have against him to the relevant institutions," said Mutua.

"Kenyans are now being unfair to the DP. They are forgetting that he has worked for what he has," he added.
