In a statement quoted by North Rift News, the Hotel owned by Deputy President William Ruto termed the claims as cheap propaganda meant to taint their image.

They cautioned members of the public against sharing similar information, especially on social media, saying the police have already taken up the matter.

“We would like to urge the public to disregard any malicious and defamatory statements and to refrain from sharing the same,” read the statement as quoted by North Rift News

"The police have taken up this matter and investigations are ongoing to establish the source and peddlers of the uninspected meat. We would like to make it clear that we do not sell any raw meat and neither do we engage with re-sellers,” the statement added.

According to the management of Weston Hotel, already some suspects have been arrested in relation to the sale of uninspected meat.

The hotel was nearly demolished last year when the government issued a directive for the demolition of all illegal structures countrywide.

It was claimed that it was built on land that belongs to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).
