The Independent Newspaper has reported that the queen has convened a meeting to be attended by senior members of the royal family in a bid to manage the fallout from the decision by Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle to step back from their royal duties.

Prince Charles, Prince Harry, and Prince William are expected to attend the meeting, which will take place on Monday, according to the Huffington Post.

The development comes in the wake of media reports that Meghan Markle has travelled to Canada in North America carrying along with her pets, fueling speculation that she and her husband intend to shift base permanently to Canada.

Prince William told a local publication that he would continue supporting his brother Harry in spite of the dramatic decision to step back from royal duties.

“I’ve put my arm around my brother all our lives and I can’t do that any more, we’re separate entities, " Prince William said as quoted by CNBC.

"I’m sad about that. All we can do, and all I can do, is try and support them and hope that the time comes when we’re all singing from the same page. I want everyone to play on the team," he added.
