At Kisii School, Nyagarama had to be pretty brief as a section of youths sitted outside the tent shouted at him, questioning his competence.

But the situation deteriorated when Nyagarama made it to Capitol Roundabout in Kisii where several leaders addressed a mammoth crowd, which did not spare the ODM governor either.

"Mr President, we are sure that someday you'll make it to Nyamira. We request your government to assist us set a university and complete Manga Stadium," he stated amid jeers.

Before the trip, there were questions why Nyagarama failed to secure Uhuru's trip to Nyamira, with locals accusing him of laxity in his job.

Area Senator Okong'o Mogeni had pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider visiting Nyamira before the year ends.

"Being a visiting here, I will be brief. Mr President, kindly find it important to also visit us in Nyamira. Your people are yearning to see you," he said.

A good number of Nyamira leaders had skipped the Kisii tour with Borabu MP Ben Momanyi questioning Uhuru's decision to snub Nyamira despite having had it at his itinerary.
