The former NTV news anchor Larry Madowo has come out to warn Kenyans about conmen using his name.
He took to his Instagram wall pleading with Kenyans not to fall prey of conmen using his social media accounts to ask for money.
“⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ None of these are my Facebook accounts. I only have one verified public page. I don’t run any money-making schemes and I would never ask you for money. I also don’t write clickbait content. Please unfriend and report them,” he said.
He distanced himself from any money making schemes as alleged on some of the fake social media accounts using his name.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) African Business Editor further reminded Kenyans that he only has one verified Facebook page.
In making sure that no more Kenyans are conned, he argued them to unfollow all other fake accounts using his name.
He shared 8 fake Facebook accounts, which he warned Kenyans against. He insisted on reporting anyone using these accounts to the police for proper action to be taken.
This is not the first time conmen are using prominent people’s names in stealing from unsuspecting Kenyans. Not long ago, other conmen were using DP Ruto’s wife Rachel Ruto’s name in stealing from Kenyans.
