Hours after Minority Chief Whip George Mosiori condoled with the family of former MP Nyarangi Moturi, more leaders have issued their condolences.
ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire has termed Moturi's death as 'shocking' adding that he'll be remembered for pushing for creation of Nyamira District in 1991.
"He's one of pioneers of Nyamira District now a county. The death has really caught me by shock," said the former Kitutu Masaba MP.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, whose constituency was part of North Mugirango before split, hailed his predecessor as 'courageous'.
"I was a little bit young but he was courageous. His leadership skills were above board and am sorry for the loss."
Others who echoed their voice include Speaker Moffat Teya, MP Jerusha Momanyi and North Mugirango's Joash Nyamoko.
Mr. Moturi was MP North Mugirango from 1988-92 where he also doubled as an assistant minister.
He unsuccessfully vied for Nyamira senatorial seat in 2013 and lost to Mr. Okong'o Mong'are. He died on Monday night in Nairobi.
Throughout his final days, he concentrated on business both in Borabu and Nairobi. He's one of pioneers of foreign education students having studied in Michigan State.
