Wananchi group has launched Zuku fiber services in Nakuru County.
The group's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thomas Hintze said as a company, they are committed to expanding their services to customers across the country.
Hintze said the firm will equally move to Eldoret, Naivasha and Kisumu counties in its phase two rollout program.
He noted that though Kenya has a high mobile internet penetration, there is high demand for home broadband internet services due to the country's growing data demand.
Hitze said the current domestic data consumption stands at about 200 to 500 times, more than what is used on mobile phones.
“The launch of Zuku Fiber in Nakuru is a continuation of the expansion plans of Zuku Fiber across Kenya and the region,” he said.
He addressed the press during the project's launch in Nakuru town on Tuesday.
Hitze said by extending its services to Nakuru County, Zuku Fiber has met the requests of many customers for Zuku Fibers Triple Play services which deliver a combination of Home internet, Television, and Telephone services to homes within residential areas at affordable prices.
According to Hintze, Zuku Fiber has continued to expand its network coverage in Kenya and has the largest coverage with more than 330,000 homes in Nairobi and Mombasa counties.
In 2017, Zuku Fibre further expanded its footprint to include the regional cities of Dar-es-salaam and Kampala in Tanzania and Uganda respectively.
