The lawmaker on Sunday took issue with the paper's headline indicating that ODM leader Raila Odinga declared that he will once again presidential vote in 2022.

The MP refuted claims that Raika made the declaration during the burial of former Gem MP Joe Donde's mother Eva Donde, insisting that nothing of the sort was said.

"This is Rediculous! I Was at The Funeral Of Mama Eva Donde! Rt Hon Odinga DID NOT Say any such thing! What’s Nation Seeking To Achieve...?" the MP tweeted.

This comes only a few weeks after the party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna lashed out at the same paper for listing Raila among leaders out to scuttle the Punguza Mizigo referendum bid.

"It is clear @NationMediaGrp @dailynation has taken a position to support Aukot's bill. How else do you explain a headline story on the bill that neither mentions nor discusses its content and merits/demerits thereof? Constitutional amendment is not a pageant/popularity contest!" he wrote earlier in the month.

This was after the paper indicated that Raila had joined hands with Ford Kenya boss Moses Wetangula and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale for the purpose.
