In videos making rounds on social media, the students are seen taking it to the superhighway before they are run for safety after police confronted them.

According to Kenyans.co.ke, the situation has been calmed down after police managed to arrest the student leader, Joshua Ayika.

A letter making rounds on social media said to have originated from the Kenyatta University Student Association (KUSA) indicates that students have listed down six demands to be met by the university administration before they return back to classes.

The listed demands include;

1. The deadline must be pushed to the last two weeks to exams

2.. No student should be forced to use fly over and that habit must stop with immediate effect.

3. All student leaders and students suspended on petty basis must be granted their rights of education back.

4. The supplementary fee should be scrapped off.

5. All casual workers who lost their jobs should be reinstated back.

6. The graduation fee must be returned to the normal price of Sh3,500.

The notice further notes that; "There will be no classes and I urge all students to boycott classes until all demands are reached, and most importantly, Wainaina must go."

This is in an apparent reference to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wainaina.
