According to Maangi, his name won't make his political rivals become leaders in 2022.

"I don't understand why my opponents are walking around mentioning my name each and every time they are holding events or attending funeral ceremonies. I am urging them to keep off my name and focus on 'begging' the electorates to vote them," he said on Friday at Nyamaiya, Nyamira County.

Mr. Maangi threatened to sue anyone who will mention his name carelessly saying he has no time to engage political idlers, only interested in spreading propaganda.

He insisted that voters will make their own choices come 2022 general elections.

"I have commitments among of them being helping my boss Governor James Ongwae to deliver to the electorates. 2022 is too far for my rivals to start panicking. Leaders are chosen by God," he added.

Maangi who has declared an interest to succeed governor James Ongwae in 2022 reiterated that he won't impose himself on the people of Kisii County if he can't be voted.
