Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati on Tuesday attended the same meeting with his main rivals from Gusii land after months of animosity.
Arati who doubles as the Gusii community spokesperson has been a talk in the region given that he is eyeing Kisii Governorship seat in 2022.
Arati shared the table with current Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who has declared interest to run for the Kisii county top seat in 2022 and Kisii County MP Janet Ong'era.
Also in attendance were; South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i, Kisii County Assembly David Kombo, Governor James Ongwae, Nyamira County MP Jerusha Momanyi, Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi among others.
During the meeting, Arati urged elected leaders from the Gusii community to stand firm in articulating issues affecting the community.
"We must drop divisive politics and work together for the purpose of developing all corners of Gusii," he noted.
During the meeting, matters on development and the preparations for the impending visit by President Kenyatta to Nyamira and Kisii counties was discussed.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to tour Gusii region on January 23 and 24, 2019.
