Odinga occupied the seat for a short while as he waited for Ruto to invite him on the podium to make his remarks.

The former premier had initially sat several meters away from the dais and when Ruto signaled that it was his time to come forth and address the public, Odinga walked on the dais and temporarily occupied the Deputy President’s seat as he waited for him to leave the stage.

The incident left the attendees of the anti-corruption conference in stitches making Ruto read the 'awkward' situation and quickly usher in Mr. Odinga to make his remarks in a bid to downplay the glaring protocol friction.

In the video seen by Hivisasa, the ODM leader looked confident and innocent about the incident and even wondered why the attendees were surprised.

“I really do not know is interesting you that much to warrant the laughter,” wondered Odinga as carried on with his speech.

The conference which was led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto was also attended by Chief Justice David Maraga, Attorney General Kihara Kariuki and other stakeholders who vowed to fight graft in all sectors across the country.
