Suna East MP Junet Mohamed believes the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga was for the best interest of the country.
The two leaders reconciled in March 2018 and have since been closely working together contrary to the past.
But their relationship seems to have thrown Jubilee Party into a limbo with Deputy President William Ruto questioning the intent of the handshake.
Ruto said on Sunday that the handshake was meant to derail development initiated by Jubilee administration.
“The handshake and BBI debate has brought confusion in the implementation of Jubilee’s Big Four agenda after it dismembered National Supper Alliance (Nasa) and killed the Opposition,” said Ruto.
However, Junet says the handshake will deliver the country from the current and future problems.
National Assembly Minority Chief Whip said President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga will deliver the country to the desired destination.
"We are confident that the path H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and H.E Raila Odinga took, though uncharted, will lead us home. We are also confident that history will absolve these moments," he said.
Already, Raila has asked Kenyans to prepare for a referendum which could lead to the change of governance in the country in the coming days.
