In a tweet on Saturday, Echesa said that he was addressing the people under tight security after the police denied leaders opposed to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) license to hold a parallel rally in Mumias.

"It is for your own good to love a dare-devil rather than a holy coward.Addressing residents of Shianda Market under good security," he tweeted.

Earlier on,  Echesa had claimed that The National Assembly Chief Whip Hon Benjamin Washiali was abducted on Friday night.

In a tweet on Saturday, Echesa asked the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to explain to the nation about the whereabouts of the lawmaker. He claimed that the police visited his home before abducting him.

"The @IG_NPS should come out from his safe gimmicks and tell us where they took The National Assembly Chief Whip Hon Benjamin Washiali after abducting him from his home at midnight. Holding him hostage in undisclosed place is a clear violation of Chapter 4 of our Constitution," he tweeted.

The details of what transpired to Washiali, however, remain scanty.
