Former Subukia lawmaker Koigi Wa Wamwere has weighed in on the said looming cabinet reshuffle, terming it a reality that could soon be implemented.
This comes amid claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta could be planning changes in the government to include representatives from the opposition side.
Speaking on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's 'Cheche' Sunday evening, Koigi noted that opposition leader Raila Odinga will most likely influence the changes.
According to the former Assistant Minister, the decision making team will also include Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart Musalia Mudavadi.
"Heunda yapo mabadiliko na watakaoitwa kumsaidia labda watakuwa Mudavadi, Raila na Kalonzo (he is likely to include the three in the changes)," he said.
Koigi, however, noted that the President has every right to conduct the same, if that is indeed the plan, but cautioned that it could backfire on him.
He advised Uhuru to ensure that only the most suitable names make it to the list, otherwise he will be the one on the receiving end should the new team fail.
"Asipofanya uteuzi mzuri makosa yote ni yeye atalimbikiziwa (he will shoulder all the blame should the new team fail)," he added.
The proposed changes are considered an implementation of the March 9 truce between Uhuru and Raila, where they agreed to unite the nation.
