Exiled Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna has called on the Orange and Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga to help Kevin Ochieng', a First Class holder from the university to secure a job.
In a tweet after Kevin Ochieng's life was highlighted on Citizen TV, Miguna argued that Raila should him find a home and a job.
"Kevin Ochieng' scored straight As from Maranda and First Class at the University but he is jobless and homeless. @RailaOdinga is a billionaire who controls Siaya and other counties. He should help Ochieng' find employment instead following Uhuru around like a bodyguard," he said.
Kevin who is currently hosted by his friend, Christopher Oloo in Kosovo, Mathare slums, graduated with a First Class honors in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi.
“I scored 392 marks out 500 in primary school; then I joined Maranda High School and scored an A. I went to University of Nairobi where I successfully got a First Class,” he narrates.
“I’ve applied to Cytonn for their graduate training program; I’ve applied to Central Bank; I’ve applied to Deloitte as well as PwC. The problem comes when I feel I’m qualified but I don’t successfully get the job," he decries.
After trying for various times to get a job in vain, he gave up and ended up on the streets. He has been on the cold streets of Nairobi for over a year.
According to Kevin, life was never easy. Encounter with cit askaris was his worse as they could beat them up like dogs.
