Embattled NLC chairman Mohamed Swazuri has been arrested in connection to the alleged fraudulent purchase of land for the standard gauge railway.

Swazuri was immediately taken to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters in Nairobi where he is locked up at the moment. 

The arrest came after the DPP gave consent for his arrest on Saturday.

According to reports from the National Land Commission insiders, the chairman authorised a Sh314 million kitty for the purchase of five dubious plots for the railway.
