Kitui Women Representative Dr Irene Kasalu has threatened to lead protests should proposal to lower sex consent age from 18 to 16 years sails through.
Speaking in Mwingi Town on Friday, Kasalu termed the proposal as ill-advised and meant to expose young girls to danger.
The Wiper MP said she will not allow the outrageous proposal to go through.
Kasalu said instead of lowering the sexual consent age, it should be increased to 20 years.
"Our young girls are likely to be exposed to sex predators if the proposal by the Court of Appeal Judges goes through," she said.
The MP noted that cases of young women being defiled are high in most parts of the country and vowed to rally women and Kenyans to reject the proposal.
"We are ready to shoot down the proposal should it find itself in the floor of the House," she added.
The MP added that girls must be allowed to mature and make their own independent decisions on matters to do with sex.
Kasalu urged parents to protect their young girls from sex predators who are likely to take advantage of the outrageous proposal.
Last month, three Court of Appeal Judges proposed lowering of sexual consent age.
The Judges argued that there is a need for Parliament to repeal some sections of the Sexual Offenses Law.
This proposal continues to elicit reactions with women leaders raising their voices against it.
