The MP claimed that Kombo has been sidelining nominated women MCAs in the county especially when debating.

"Women are also people who are entitled to leadership. Kombo should give nominated women MCAs the respect and chances to debate on motions at the assembly failure to which I will take a stern action against the speaker," she said.

Ongera called on males MCAs to ensure no women MCA is mistreated or mishandled by the speaker.

She said the constitution allows women to participate in leadership and therefore, the assembly speaker should respect the law or resign from office.

"Kombo should follow the law and stop blackmailing, intimidating nominated women MCAs. If he is tired, let him resign for someone to take up his role," she added.

The ODM lawmaker reiterated that there is a need for leaders to work together for the purpose of realizing development across the county.

According to her, there will be no development in the county if leaders will not work as a team.
