Kisii County Senator Sam Ongeri stated that DP Ruto is using close aides to frustrate president Uhuru Kenyatta's development agenda.

Speaking while passing by Kisii town, Ongeri urged DP Ruto to advise his allies not to fight the President.

"It is shameful that a section of politicians who have been moving around the country with DP Ruto want the President to discriminate other regions. I wish to urge DP Ruto to stop hiding in his aides to derail the Head of State's development agenda," he said.

The vocal senator regretted that DP Ruto may find it hard clinching Presidency in 2022 because Kenyans are closely monitoring him.

"Kenyans won't elect someone who doesn't want to extend the handshake to people in the region that won't support him. Ruto must accept the historic handshake and allow Mr Kenyatta to develop the country towards leaving a legacy behind in 2022," he noted.

Ongeri challenged members of the public to ignore politicians whose intention is to spread propaganda.

He said Mr Kenyatta is welcome to Kisii and Nyamira counties any time to launch development projects.

Oneri speaks at a time when there are political misunderstandings in Jubilee with some MPs said to be allied to DP Ruto waging the war of words against the president.
