Speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Monday, Ngetich said they are the ones responsible for the death of innocent pupils because of their shoddy work.

“I want first to send a message of condolences to the family and friends of the affected families. The government should arrest engineers, school management and contractors that constructed the school and charge them with murder,” he said.

Ngetich also blamed the Nairobi County government for approving the construction of the building noting that they should also bear responsibility for the loss of innocent lives.

“How can seven pupils' lives be lost just because of some people negligence? How can a storey building built using an iron sheet? This is uncalled for and those involved should face the full force of the law," added Ngetich.

Ngetich said the government should take stern action against those involved lest such incidents continue to happen.

He also called on those selling and making bricks and blocks to ensure they use the right ratios.
