On Saturday, Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria landed in Kisumu and was well-received by the residents.
Addressing residents, the controversial legislator did not shy away from weighing in on 2022 presidential politics.
Kuria said that there was a need for a debt-recovery unit, a remark that many have interpreted to mean that Central Kenya may support Odinga's bid in 2022.
Kuria's words will doubtless cause jitters in Ruto's camp.
"I think now we will have to set up a debt-recovery unit," he said.
The remarks triggered a lot of chatter, especially on social media.
Here is what the residents of Garissa had to say about Kuria's remarks:
"I think he was just playing to the public gallery. He had to give the residents hope," Abdirahman Kadar says.
"Given the nasty things that he has said in the past, I am surprised that the residents of Kisumu took him seriously. Kuria should never be taken seriously," Salim Guyo says.
"Raila's debt should be paid first before Ruto's," Farah Said says.
"This should worry Ruto deeply. Kuria may not support him in 2022," Rahma Fakir says.
