Speaking in Eldoret town on Monday, Koskei said hanging of the corrupt will help end the vice that has led to Kenya losing a lot of money.

“Those involved in corruption no matter their tribal, religious or political affiliations should be hanged once proven guilty to act as an example to people with similar deeds,” said the Chama Cha Mashinani MP.

He further pointed out that graft had negatively impacted on the country’s economy subsequently rendering many jobless hence it should be handled with the seriousness it deserves.

Koskei, however, cautioned against politicizing the war on graft.

“There is no tribe that corrupt, a thief is a thief and should carry his/her own cross. Corruption fight should however not be used to settle political scores,” said the first-time legislator who also pointed out that those who have stolen public funds should be forced to return and their accounts frozen.

The sentiments come at a time a section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto has been claiming that the fight against corruption was being used to target professionals from the Kalenjin community.
