Kidneys are important organs of the body in that help to filter blood to remove toxins. The body gets rid of the toxins through urination.
We have a pair of kidneys each located on each side of the spine. Kidney trouble, disease or failure means they have failed to filter blood.
So how can you know your kidneys are in trouble? Read on;
1. You're too tired and have less energy
When your kidneys are in trouble, it means they can't filter your blood to remove toxins. Therefore, toxins accumulate in your body causing tiredness, weakness and lack of concentration.
2. You have a dry itchy skin
When kidneys are in trouble, they can't filter blood to remove toxins and maintain mineral balance. This has effects on the skin such that it appears dry and itchy. The body is not able to process healthy nutrients for your skin when kidneys are dysfunctional.
3. Shortness of breath
Experiencing shortness of breath can be attributed to kidney problems in two ways. First, there may be extra fluid build up in the lungs or secondly, anemia which means shortage of oxygenated red blood cells.
4. Swelling in hands or feet
Kidneys that have failed cannot remove extra fluid which builds up in the body causing swelling in the legs ankles and joints of your hands.
5. You urinate a lot or you rarely urinate
Too much peeing could mean your kidneys are not able to absorb nutrients from the fluids you drink and so it lets them flow freely.
Or, your body might be retaining a lot of fluids due to kidney problems hence too less or no urine.
