According to K24 TV’s website, the popular musician said there’s need of having a Prime Minister’s post, insisting that the post does not belong to ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.

“As a community (Gikuyu) let us not be lied to that the Prime Ministers’ post belongs to Raila Odinga. The post can go to anybody from any tribe in Kenya because it is a national post,” the musician reportedly said on Sunday.

He died later that day after his vehicle was involved in a road accident along Thika Road.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and Odinga are among a host of political leaders who send their condolences after his demise. They termed him as an astute Kikuyu musician.

A section of leaders opposed to constitutional reforms claim that the aim of a referendum is creating leadership positions for various leaders.

The ODM leader has been on the fore front drumming up calls for a referendum pending recommendations by the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

BBI was formed by President Uhuru Kenyatta alongside Odinga, after the March 09, 2019 handshake between the two leaders.
