Monica Nyawira Kimani will be laid to rest on Friday, September 28, at her family farm in Gilgil, Nakuru County.
Monica was found dead with her throat slit in her apartment in Luciane apartments on Kitale Lane, off Dennis Pritt Road in Nairobi.
Her requiem mass was held today (Thursday) at the Mount Kenya University (MKU) grounds in Thika, Kiambu County.
Family members and friends were filled with grief and sorrow as they paid their last respect to the Monica.
Speaking during her requiem mass, her father, Bishop Paul Ngarama, revealed that Monica had promised to improve her family's living standards.
Here are some of the things that she had promised to do for her family as revealed by her father.
1. She had vowed that her mother would never lack anything in life.
2. She had promised to buy her mother a car. She bought her a Subaru Impreza last week.
3. She had promised to buy her father a V8 Land cruiser on her birthday.
Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe’s fiance Joseph Irungu aka Jowie was on Tuesday arrested over the murder of Monica before he was arraigned at the Kiambu Law Courts on Wednesday.
Maribe’s car was today (Thursday) impounded as investigations into the case intensify. Police are said to be looking for the anchor after efforts to reach her to record a statement proved futile.
