When Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri publicly launched a bare knuckle attack against President Uhuru Kenyatta, there were political fireworks within Nakuru and the country.
The MP launched the attacks despite Nakuru being Uhuru's stronghold as well as a vote rich region for the Jubilee government.
Though many saw Ngunjiri as a rebel, the bad boy from inside, his tantrums didn't take long and he is now singing praises to Uhuru.
The reason why Ngunjiri decided to change tune quickly is because continued attacks on his party's boss would have put him at loggerheads with Kenyatta's supporters in the region.
This risks him losing his popularity in the region ahead of 2022.
Also, elected leaders from Nakuru are Uhuru's loyalists -- any contrary voice would obviously drown!
As such, the vocal Bahati legislator would be alone in his anti-Uhuru journey.
His political advisors must have given him the best of advice, otherwise, he was limping into political oblivion.
