An elected Member of County Assembly in Kisii County has disowned that Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati is the Gusii community spokesperson.
Kiogoro ward MCA Samuel Apoko while speaking at a funeral in Birongo in Kisii County on Monday said MP Arati imposed himself and no one recognizes him as the community's spokesperson.
"No one from the Gusii community named Arati as the Gusii community's official spokesman only that he (Arati) declared himself the spokesperson. Arati does not respect elected leaders for him to qualify to be the community's spokesman," said Apoko.
Apoko slammed the MP's continued attacks targeting Deputy President William Ruto claiming that DP Ruto is a among the thieves who have stolen public funds.
According to the ward representative, Arati should first start engaging in constructive politics, respect other leaders before he goes for the Gusii community's spokesperson position.
"We cannot accept a politician like Arati engaging in politics based on hatred and political parties to represent the community as the spokesperson. It is high time Nyamira and Kisii leaders to stand firm and ensure Arati is not misleading members of the community," Apoko added.
He called for unity among elected leaders in Gusii for the sake of pushing for development in the region.
