Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has come out to respond to a group of Kalenjin elders allied to the independence party, KANU, who on Tuesday asked Deputy President William Ruto's allied to keep off from Mzee Moi.
The elders had also accused the Jubilee MPs of disrespecting the retired President.
But responding to the elder's claims, Sudi through a post on his official Facebook page said he respects Mzee Moi.
He however claimed, his son, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi was the one disrespecting the former head of state.
"I wish to respond to a team of Wazee masquerading as Church leaders/Council of Elders from the Kalenjin community. The Wazee demanded that politicians should respect the name and family of former President Moi", Sudi said in part of his Facebook post.
"I personally respect Mzee Moi as a Kalenjin Elder and the longest serving President in the history of Kenya. However, his son Gideon Moi is the one disrespecting his father indirectly. Gideon is known to be sponsoring some MPs and brokers to malign and attack Deputy President William Ruto," he added.
The two-time legislator further challenged the elders to preach harmony and peaceful co-existence among leaders.
