Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim has hit out at leaders politicising the ongoing war on corruption.
Maalim noted that a section of politicians is using the graft war to divide Kenyans on political grounds.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the former Lagdera MP warned that the war against graft is likely to stall if politicians use it to cause political and tribal divisions among Kenyans.
"We have a nation whose political leadership perfects the art of dividing Kenyans to shield scrutiny/attention from corruption and other ills," said Maalim.
The former Lagdera MP asked the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) George Kinoti and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji to remain firm in fighting corruption.
"If Kinoti/Noordin are serious about fighting corruption then they should pick the tons of evidence with Auditor General and haul people to court," Maalim added.
The politician noted that the Auditor General has a lot of evidence on major graft in all the three arms of national government and even counties.
He advised Kinoti and Haji to pick the said evidence and have the staff at the Auditor General's office as expert witnesses in court.
Maalim said Kinoti and Haji will be guaranteed of convictions if they take his advice.
The war on graft has intensified as investigations into the alleged Sh21 billion dams scandal continues.
The investigations by the DCI have however elicited mixed reactions across the political divide.
A section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto is accusing the DCI of using the war on graft to block DP Ruto's 2022 bid.
Kinoti has however dismissed politicians calling him President Uhuru Kenyatta's 'errand boy', saying that he will not be intimidated.
The DCI has maintained that he and other investigative agencies will not relent in the graft war.
